Social and Community Programs - Hadas Programs
Hadassah College has dedicated itself to community involvement programs for students in the Hadassah College Community and for the citizens of Jerusalem. This is manifested in student participation in community involvement programs within the college and the city using their professional abilities attained through their studies and development of personal abilities.

Participation in these projects makes the student eligible for various scholarships available at Hadassah College. The College believes in the great importance of community involvement, and encourages students to become active in community social projects. Cooperation and mutual help impart a wonderful sense of giving and assisting one's fellow man.

We believe that above and beyond the financial gain for each student, these programs have a social, communal and personal benefit, which is equally important. The projects enable students to become aware of the general problems within the community and to learn to help, listen, and understand its citizens. These activities benefit the entire community and the Israeli society in general.

Two types of scholarships are available to students who volunteer:
1. Need-based scholarships
These scholarships are given on the basis of the student's socio-economic status. The student volunteers on a limited basis in various capacities within the college or in the vicinity of the college. Activities are divided into four categories:
  1. Activities benefiting students based on mutual help within the college. These activities include tutoring students with learning challenges, students returning from reserve duty or a long-term illness, pre-academic students, and students with physical challenges (hearing or sight challenged).
  2. Activities within different departments (setting up an exhibition, etc.) or in the Information Resource Center (arranging books in one's specific department, etc.).
  3. Operation of the computer room in the Children's ward at Bikur Holim hospital (within walking distance of the College)
  4. Activities for small groups with special needs.

2. Hadas Program Scholarships
Within the framework of this program, students participate in various activities on a weekly basis in the College and within the city. These activities entitle the student to a reduction of 50% of their tuition fees The community programs where students volunteer are as follows:

Perach
Perach is a nationwide big brother / big sister project which aims to bridge social or educational gaps, supply enrichment programs for youth in need, encourage awareness of educational issues among students, and assist students in financing their studies.
  • Personal Mentoring: Students are paired with a child in need of social, educational, or emotional support, and spend a set amount of time weekly with their "little brother" or "little sister", in their homes
  • Perach - Communications: A unique program open to students in the Departments of Printing and Computer Graphics, Cinema and Television Production, and Industrial Design. This project relies on the professional skills of the participants; students offer tutorials on various field-related topics in campus computer labs.
  • Perach - Leshem: This program offers assistance to learning-disabled students. Tutorials take place on campus.
