Hearing Awareness Day
National Hearing Awareness is noted each year and Hadassah College Jerusalem’s Communication Disorders students are the forefront with organization of various events during the day. Free audiological screening is done by fourth year students of the department for the public at large at Hadassah College Jerusalem, Hadassah Ein Karem, Hadassah Mt. Scopus and at the Knesset. In addition, students man information desks set up at the hospitals in order to distribute information brochures and make the public more aware of hearing health issues.

Activities of National Hearing Awareness Day 2008
National Hearing Awareness took place this year on May 26-27, 2008 and in Jerusalem fourth year students of the department provided free audiological screening to the public at Hadassah College Jerusalem, Hadassah Ein Karem, Hadassah Mt. Scopus and at the Knesset. The success was beyond expectations, close to 100 Knesset members and employees were screened while 78 people at Hadassah College, 76 at Ein Karem and 30 at Mt Scopus. In addition, students distributed information brochures over 50 people phoned the hot line manned by a clinician and ear nose and throat doctor to inquire about hearing related issues.
