About

Head of Department: Yochi Geiger
Secretary: Orit Tshuva

Over the past few decades, English has become the number-one international language: the common language of scientists, economists, technology experts, and commerce professionals. English as a tool for communication, personal and formal, scientific and professional, is a basic need for planning a career in the global village.

Hadassah College Jerusalem has set teaching and training top professionals as its main goal. The aim is to produce graduates who will excel in every area of the work force. In order to achieve this, proficiency in English is of prime importance for all departments.

Graduates need to master all aspects of the language in order to excel. Our English program is unique in that it provides multiple language skills to the student in addition to reading comprehension skills.

In the class, our students are taught strategies for fast, efficient reading, they are given the opportunity to broaden their vocabulary and knowledge, in their special field of interest as well as to broaden their general knowledge. They also become confident users of the language as their technical and scientific English skills develop. Further, students are given a strong basis in English starting from vocabulary, sentence structure, paragraph structure, and cohesive features across texts. On the active side students are taught to write e-mails, resumes, project proposals and work applications.

English studies are conducted by professional, experienced faculty members in groups divided according to level.
Exemption from English studies is given to those who have achieved a passing grade (134 and above) in the English component of the psychometric test or on the AMIR examination (234 and above).
