About

Department Chair: Dr. Dafna Natan
Department Secretary: Felik Ettii

Chemical Engineering is one of the most developed and profitable industries in Israel. Existing raw materials, unique technological innovations, combined with international markets for these products assure the future of this field. The job of a chemical engineer includes planning projects-both individually and in groups, supervision of various stages of chemical production - from the raw materials to the final product, participation in the development of pilot stages and techniques to be employed in the laboratory and industry.

Minor in Pharmaceutical Chemistry
Pharmaceutical Chemistry, a field that has an increased demand for more professionals, is a field of chemistry that focuses on development, production, and administration of the mediation. drugs, and symptoms for the treatment of common illness. Pharmaceutical chemists design new medications or improve existent ones, in an attempt to maximize their efficacy, enhance the biological response to them, and minimize their side effects. Triggered by the standards of the FDA (the Food and Drug Administration of the United States) for new drug potency, safety, and stability pharmaceutical engineers develop and improve methods of analysis for the production and quality control of medical products; it has become necessary to verify the safety of these products for humans as well as their shelf-life for storage. The studies in the College include work in state-of-the-art laboratories, in-depth analysis of chemistry, pharmacology, biochemistry, physiology, molecular biology, cellular biology, microbiology, chemical engineering, statistics, and modern research methods.

Study Objectives
To enable graduate to become integrated in research facilities, pharmacies, pharmaceutical factories and companies throughout Israel.

Terms for Admission
  • Matriculation certificate or passing grades in math, English, and Hebrew exams.
  • Placement exams. Students who achieved a 500 or higher on their psychometric exam will be exempt from the placement exam.

Duration of Studies
Two years. Graduates are granted an Associate Degree in Chemical Engineering and are certified by MAHAT (National Institute for Technological Training.)
