About

Department Chair: Moshe Caine

The penetration of the Internet into new fields and the broadening of the communication industry have created a need for multi-skilled professionals in design and production. Broadband Internet, interactive television, satellite broadcasting and cellular telephones are the foundation of new media channels. Today the creation of a new media product is composed of a complex production process which until now were separate fields: script writing, graphic design, photo adaptation, animation, video, product design, three-dimensional, user interface, programming and management of database information systems. Those individuals now in the field learn the various skills while on the job and a shortage of human resources trained in interrelated fields has emerged. Each one of the fields represents a different professional outlook. This program gives the students’ basic skills to analyze design, ability to implement projects professionally, and computer proficiency in all fields. Interactive communication engineers will be able to integrate in the business environment as Internet operators, website designers, creators of multimedia presentations and developers of computer games.
