Departments / Photographic Communications
About
Department Chair: Prof. Yeshayahu Nir
The department focuses on three main subjects: digital media, mass communications and its pace in our society and culture. The goal of the program is to give future photographers an in-depth, broad social/cultural perspective. Graduates will specialize in business/advertising photography as well as news/documentary photography. The program will provide students with tools to gain a unique perspective of the complex nature of the world in which we live; courses will offer students insight into the inherent complexities of representing society and the individual. Materials will be complemented by the study of the ethical issues in the world of communications.
The academic studies will expand the awareness of the photographer's professional capabilities that stand in collaboration with the forces of society and government. As a photographer, the student becomes a communicator, equipped with tools, understanding and motivation to develop individual style and discover inner artistic potential.
